Things to Consider When Looking Into a Hawaii Vacation

It is hard to beat Hawaii vacations when it comes to lying on a beach and having fun. This is a perfect place for a lovely and refreshing break to recharge the batteries.

The Hawaiian weather is exceptional all year round with gentle warm breezes a perfect change to the frigid temperatures back home, and during summer you have an 85 degree sun cooled by the fresh trade winds blowing in from off the ocean. It is not too cold and not too hot.

When planning a vacation to Hawaii, you might prefer to visit one island or make plans to visit more than just that one island.

You’ll very likely visit Oahu on any Hawaii vacation, for the reason that it is the hub for the majority of flights to and from the Islands. However, the island has a great deal to offer, and Oahu is the major tourist destination featuring Waikiki Beach and Honolulu, the Hawaiian state capital. Here you will also find Pearl Harbor. One of several historic sites will be the museum in honor of the USS Arizona, featuring numerous artifacts pertaining to the 1941 attack.

Kauai is the most northern island in the archipelago, and it’s also the oldest island in Hawaii. This is a romantic island famous for its natural beauty, and it is also great for an outdoor adventure getaway for travelers of any age. The famed Coconut Coast is on the eastern side of the island, with its marvelous sandy beaches which are a treat for sunbathing and relaxing, alternatively if you should journey to the west side of the island there is what is referred to as the ‘Grand Canyon of the Pacific’ – the Waimea Canyon. Nearby is the Kokee State Park, a recreation area of wonderful natural beauty featuring a number of trails that can be followed to experience several of the rarest birds in Hawaii as well as plants that live only in the rainforest.

South of Oahu is Molokai with a substantial population of native Hawaiian people. You will find many events in the island that are related to the indigenous Polynesian traditions and history.

Our next island in the chain is Lanai. This special island has not even one stop light and everyday life is slower here than on the other islands. On Lanai are two prestigious golf courses.

The second largest island in the Hawaii Islands is Maui. Some of the top beaches anywhere are found here. Maui also boasts excellent options to enjoy humpback whales which traverse through these waters each winter season.

The Big Island is certainly that – big. The island possesses more land area than all of the other islands of Hawaii put together. Of the thirteen climatic zones that are in the world, eleven are to be found here. On the Big Island is an active volcano, black sand beaches and snowcapped mountains.

In case you are unsure as to which island you want to spend most of your time at, or if this happens to be your first trip to Hawaii, then why not look at one of the numerous Hawaii cruise packages? You board your luxury cruise ship, upon which you will spend your nights, and after departing Honolulu you have a day and a half on each island. What could be a better way to tour the Hawaiian Islands for the first time and assess which island you enjoy best?

Of course, in case you prefer to sleep on land, then there’s a wide choice of hotels and it is easy to find a vacation rental in Hawaii. Many are reasonably priced and are found all over Hawaii.
