Tax credit on energy savings products?

Aqua7777 asked:

In 2007, I purchased a brand new water heater, fridge, dishwasher, oven, microwave, washer and dryer. I had home improvement (remodeled kitchen and bathrooms) equalling approximately 10K.

Can I claim a tax credit on any of this?

NO. I just learned this the hard way.
    1. Home Improvements are NOt tax deductable.
    2. If you bought energy efficiant products, they MUST be installed by the energy company or certain other “approved” technicians in order for them to be a write off.
You made a good investment as these items will save you money, BUT, they are not a write off.
