Ideas for simple home improvement?
Ashley asked:
I am trying to remodel my cabana (small one room mini house outside my home) as best I can with my skill set, which is pretty much I can paint and pound nails. I’m looking for simple ideas for things that don’t involve knocking down walls or anything at all drastic. remember that this is a teenage girl attempting to do these things please!
the cabana is fairly small, and it already is about 1/3 full with a bunkbed my brothers left there. I want to turn it into someplace that my friends and I can hang out, without them constantly shrieking because of spiders.

I would suggest fresh paint and maybe a “border” (wallpaper) to run around the top near the ceiling. Or I have seen borders used as a chair rail too.
If you want to paint a design on the wall you can use BLUE masking tape and that will leave clean lines for changing the colors.
A personally loved the rainbow my daughter had in her room.

You already have the first, easiest, least expensive notion in using paint.
What also matters is the Style/Environment you wish to create, IE: staying with the cabana theme.
As an exterior structure and not knowing how it’s subject to the environment, Posters and/or paper products may not be such a good idea. Also without knowing the structure, it sounds like bordering with a wall paper might fit into the NO category.
Certainly there are shops that sell Fish net, sea shells, star fish, etc for an Island/tropical theme, and again not knowing at all if this is a living space, recreational, part time get away space, your own judgement about accessorizing can’t be stated here, other than OUR opinions.
No offense meant at all, but as a parent of a daughter, I knew her moods and attitudes, as well as interests and Deco ideas, could possibly change weekly.
It’s a Cabana, perhaps even a place for relaxing/dreaming. Set it as you would if it was your private vacation location.
